THE PREDICTION

World number nine Hubert Hurkacz survived a scare on Saturday, coming back from a set down to beat Thiago Seyboth Wild en-route to a 3-0 win for Poland over Brazil. Hurkacz partnered world number one Iga Swiatek masterfully in the doubles despite the pair already winning the tie to make a huge statement to the rest of the competition and they should be considered a very serious title contender. World number 26 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina made much shorter work of Seyboth Wild in Spain’s 2-1 victory over Brazil on Friday but he will know he has to do something special here with Swiatek a near dead-cert winner in the second match. The 24-year-old overcame Hurkacz in five gruelling sets at Wimbledon this summer to take a 3-2 lead in their head-to-head record but four of their five encounters have seen sets go both ways to set the stage for a likely thriller here.

Given Hurkacz’s opener, back the Pole to earn at least a set here in conditions that suit him better with three sets likelier than two. Alternatively, take at least one tiebreak in the match with four played between them in their last three encounters.

TIP: OVER 0.5 TIEBREAKS
