PAULA BADOSA VS YAFAN WANG PREDICTION
Paula Badosa has been rekindling the magic over the past few months as the Spanish 26-year-old continues her rise back up the WTA rankings.
Badosa has been in fine form in recent months now that she is completely over her injury worries and she is looking in ominous form once again in this year’s US Open.
Badosa has eased through the rounds beating Golubic and Townsend in straight sets but she was posed more problems by Ruse last time out but Badosa came through a final set tiebreak.
This is the furthest she has been at the US Open as she had never gone past the second round before. However, after doing well in Cincinnati and reaching the semi-finals, she is playing with good confidence on these hard courts.
She now meets Chinese 30-year-old Yafan Wang who overcame 20th seed Victoria Azarenka last time out in three sets. She has been playing well but this will be a tough test for her. She does hold the edge in the head-to-head as she won their only previous meeting albeit back in 2019.
That said, we favour Badosa strongly here. She is playing high-quality tennis and should have enough to overcome Wang in straight sets.
