ONS JABEUR VS NAOMI OSAKA PREDICTION
Ons Jabeur hasn’t had a bad season by any stretch; indeed she reached the quarter-finals of the French Open for the second year in succession, but she hasn’t reached those heights on hard courts. The Tunisian chose to skip the Paris Olympics in order to focus on her physical health though, and comes into this match having not played competitively for a month and a half. She was due to feature in last week’s Citi Open, but withdrew due to shoulder pain.
Jabeur’s opponent Osaka is still working her way back after a hiatus from tennis in 2023. The four-time Grand Slam champion has reached two quarter-finals this year, her first since 2022, but she still has some way to go to match the form that took her to world number one.
This is a really difficult one to call given that there is a degree of uncertainty surrounding Jabeur’s fitness, while Osaka is still some way off her best. There could be some momentum swings as both players aim to find their rhythm, so we are predicting this match to go the distance.
