World number seven Ons Jabeur conceded just four games to Alycia Parks on Wednesday to improve on recent choppy performances on hardcourts. The 29-year-old is the top seed this week in a huge opportunity to add to her Madrid Masters title claimed last season and she should have far too many weapons to be upset by Martina Trevisan here. World number 54 Trevisan normally struggles away from her favoured clay but the conditions in Guadalajara have been enjoyed by clay specialists in recent seasons and a straight-sets victory over compatriot Jasmine Paolini on Monday says she can be competitive.
