NUNO BORGES VS RAFAEL NADAL PREDICTION

Rafa Nadal’s focus is very much on the Paris Olympics but he is using this as a tournament to build his fitness and given the three-set matches he has had this week, he has certainly pushed himself. He has looked a little sluggish at times but he has warmed up nicely and successfully fought his way into the final. He did withdraw from the doubles tournament which he was playing with Casper Ruud as the Norwegian picked up an injury but that was probably not a bad thing for Nadal.

The Spaniard will be motivated to get the win on his favourite surface but Nuno Borges will likely have the edge in motivation for this match in isolation. The Portuguese 27-year-old has a golden opportunity in his first ever meeting with the veteran to cause an upset and he will give his all. Ultimately, Nadal’s quality should shine through and see him to victory but it would be no surprise to see him drop another set if he starts so slowly once again. There’s no value on betting Nadal straight up but expect his focus to be better than it has been this week and he should wrap this up in straight sets.
