NUNO BORGES VS MIOMIR KECMANOVIC PREDICTION

It has been some year for Nuno Borges already and the 27-year-old Portuguese player will be hoping to keep this momentum going. He reached the fourth round at the Aussie Open – becoming the first Portuguese player to achieve such a feat – and then won his first ATP title at the Swedish Open beating legend Rafael Nadal in the final. He has broken into the top 50 of the world rankings and he will be keen to do well on his Canadian Open debut.

He faces Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic and he has had a mixed season after starting well reaching the round of 16 at the Australian Open before losing to Carlos Alcaraz at the start of the year. His recent form has not been great but he has been in North America for the last couple of weeks in Atlanta and then Washington and that may just see him a little better prepared than Borges on this surface.

It is for that reason that we marginally prefer Kecmanovic. He also has the edge in head-to-head having won their only previous meeting last year in straight sets 6-3 7-5. That also came in North America on a hard court. We think he just edges what will be a close match.
