THE LOWDOWN
NOVAK DJOKOVIC
Novak Djokovic showed all of his champion qualities to come from two sets down to defeat the impressive Jannik Sinner in Tuesday’s quarter-final, digging deep to maintain his chances of winning a 21st Grand Slam title, and seventh at Wimbledon.
CAMERON NORRIE
Cam Norrie was also forced to endure a five-set match when he outlasted David Goffin in his own quarter-final, and the Brit will be appearing in his first ever Grand Slam semi-final as he takes on Novak Djokovic for just the second time in his career.
THE PREDICTION
There’s no doubt who the favourite will be here, with Novak Djokovic appearing in his 11th Wimbledon semi-final while Cameron Norrie has yet to experience such an occasion. The Brit will of course have the Centre Court crowd fully behind him, although that often serves to motivate Djokovic to even greater heights. The Serb often plays the villain on these big occasions and simultaneously resents and relishes it, and it will likely take a career-best performance from Norrie to topple him. Ultimately, Norrie doesn’t possess a serve that can do much damage to the game’s greatest returner, and although he may well sneak a set, the six-time champion should prevail.
