28-year-old Nicolas Jarry set a career-high ATP world ranking of 20th this week after another excellent run to the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters. The Chilean has picked up his second and third ATP titles this season on home clay in Santiago and then in Geneva in July, suggesting he could feel at home back in Switzerland on hardcourt conditions that increasingly look like his best surface. 25-year-old Ugo Humbert moved back inside the top 30 recently after grafting his way back from the wilderness caused by a truly woeful 2022.
