NICOLAS JARRY VS LORENZO SONEGO PREDICTION

Nicolas Jarry has a 18-23 record on the ATP Tour this year but much of those wins came in the first half of 2024 as they have been hard to come by in recent months. The Chilean was knocked out in Stockholm in the first round by Holger Rune last week and comes to Paris looking to put in a performance.

He opens up against Lorenzo Sonego who has come through two rounds of qualifying to reach the main draw. The 29-year-old Italian beat Botic van de Zandschulp in three sets and then Roberto Carballes Baena in straight sets on Sunday.

The pair have met three times before on the Tour and it is Sonego who edges the head-to-head 2-1. Jarry won the last meeting in Shanghai last year.

Our preference on form is with Sonego. The Italian has some confidence and form from qualifying and beat some decent players. Jarry just cannot seem to buy a win right now and we have to favour Sonego.
