THE PREDICTION
Former world number 13 Nick Kyrgios put in the kind of display on Thursday that keeps him the conversations at Grand Slam events, completely dismissing recent Queen’s finalist Filip Krajinovic in straight sets. The 27-year-old was fined for his behaviour in the first round, where he almost lost to wildcard Paul Jubb in five sets, to display both sides of his coin already ahead of this absolute blockbuster with Stefanos Tsitsipas. World number five Tsitsipas is riding a six-match winning streak on grass in a hugely impressive turnaround on what was his weakest surface by a country mile and he looked more assured in a straight-sets victory over Jordan Thompson than an uncomfortable four-setter against Alexander Ritschard.
23-year-old Tsitsipas beat Roberto Bautista Agut to the Mallorca Open title last weekend but he faces the last player to beat him in Kyrgios, who took their head-to-head record to 3-1 with a three-set victory in the round of 16 at the Halle Open. This is must-watch tennis on Saturday and tiebreaks could be your friend in avoiding picking the winner. The pair have seen four tiebreaks amongst their total of 11 sets played and taking at least one here, or even two, is a reasonable option in a match that could go the distance. Both players will want this desperately but five sets gives Tsitsipas more room to manoeuvre, to outlast Kyrgios, and he could edge this the longer the match takes.
