MIRRA ANDREEVA VS BARBORA KREJCIKOVA PREDICTION

17-year-old Mirra Andreeva has been playing some good tennis in recent weeks and she has breezed through the opening two rounds in Ningbo so far. She flew past Varvara Lepchenko 6-2 6-0 and then Tamara Korpatsch 6-0 6-4 so her confidence is high coming into this one.

This clash with veteran Barbora Krejcikova will be a much sterner test and is their first-ever meeting on the WTA Tour.

Krejcikova’s form since Wimbledon has been below par and she was eliminated in her first match in both the China Open and then the Wuhan Open last week. She did get a much-needed win in her first match in Ningbo beating YeXin Ma 7-6 6-3 but the fourth seed is still a long way from her best.

It will be interesting to see if the challenge of facing Andreeva fires Krejcikova up to raise her game. There is no real evidence of that happening however based on recent performances and we strongly favour Andreeva to get the win and make it through to the semis.
