THE PREDICTION
World number 36 Miomir Kecmanovic avoided a tricky opener with Tomas Martin Etcheverry on Monday and beat his replacement comfortably in straight sets. The 23-year-old has twice finished runner-up this season, to Taylor Fritz at the Delray Beach Open and to Casper Ruud at the Estoril Open, as he continues to enjoy some consistency on tour but recent defeats to Cristian Garin and Fabio Fognini were certainly avoidable. World number 60 Jack Draper conceded just five games to Alexandre Muller on Sunday in his first match back on tour since a tight three-set defeat to Hubert Hurkacz at the Monte-Carlo Open last month and he will be a considerable challenge to Kecmanovic despite meeting on the Serb’s favoured surface. 21-year-old Draper has excelled on grass and hardcourts already as his star continues to rise but he has relatively little experience in these conditions. Back Kecmanovic to earn at least a set as the likelier of two very capable winners here.
