THE PREDICTION

This promises to be another thrilling edition of what is proving to be an intriguing rivalry on tour between world number 50 Jack Draper and number 53 Miomir Kecmanovic, both of whom are of at least top 30 quality in real terms. 22-year-old Draper leads their head-to-head 2-1 after victories in Lyon last spring and most recently from a set down en-route to the Adelaide final last month, although Kecmanovic arguably took their biggest encounter yet at the Davis Cup Finals in November. 24-year-old Kecmanovic played well to oust Daniel Altmaier, whom in turn had just stunned top seed Alexander Zverev to blow this section of the draw wide open, but Draper’s blistering wins over Tommy Paul and Yoshihito Nishioka so far suggest he is in a good moment in conditions that suit his powerful game. Four of their last five sets played went to a tiebreak, so take at least one here alongside at least a set for Draper as the likelier of two very capable victors.

TIP: JACK DRAPER TO WIN A SET (AND OVER 0.5 TIEBREAKS)
