MATTEO BERRETTINI VS QUENTIN HALYS PREDICTION

Matteo Berrettini was in outstanding form on Saturday in overcoming Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-6 7-5 and is hot favourite to claim the Swiss Open in Gstaad. The entertaining Italian has enjoyed a fine season now that he is finally back to full fitness and he will be desperate to win a second title of 2024. In the win over Tsitsipas, his first serve was outstanding winning 92% and that was the key difference with Tsitsipas’s serve letting him down. Anything close to that here, and Berrettini will fully expect to claim glory.

He faces Frenchman Quentin Halys at the Roy Emerson Arena and Halys will be motivated to pull off the shock. He fired down 16 aces in his semi against Jan-Lennard Struff and he really will have to do something similar to have a chance of winning here. Halys’ return game is unlikely to be good enough to generate enough chances to break, unlike Berrettini’s return game, and that is where the difference will likely lie. A straight sets win for Berrettini is the play here.
