MARTON FUCSOVICS VS MATTEO BERRETTINI PREDICTION

Marton Fucsovics returned to action last week in Antwerp after several weeks out with injury and he reached the round of 16 before being knocked out by Felix Auger-Aliassime. He has had to come through qualifying in Vienna and he beat Pavel Kotev and the Richard Gasquet to make it to the main draw.

Those wins will give him some confidence but he has been handed a tough first-round draw as he meets Matteo Berrettini.

The 28-year-old Italian is trying to stay active to regain some much-needed ranking points following an injury-laden 2023. He can take heart from having beaten Fucsovics already once this year. He beat the Hungarian in four sets at Wimbledon although he is much more comfortable on grass than his opponent.

This is an interesting game and one we can potentially see going the distance. We fully expect a tiebreak or possibly more and over 21.5 games is our favoured pick in this one along with Berrettini.
