MARTON FUCSOVICS VS JIRI LEHECKA PREDICTION

Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics comes into the US Open in pretty miserable form as he continues his slide down the rankings. The 32-year-old has saved his best and only decent performances for clay this season but otherwise he has struggled. That does not bode well as he comes to Flushing Meadows and has been handed a tough opening match in the first round against Jiri Lehecka.

The Czech star returned to action in Cincinnati after over three months out with a stress fracture in his back. He will have been delighted with his performances that week especially the win over Daniil Medvedev. As he builds his fitness back up, Lehecka showed he has not lost a step during the absence and he will be confident of getting through some rounds this week.

The two players have met once before and that came in Dubai on a hard court earlier this year. Lehecka won that one over three sets and we expect him to win this one more comprehensively albeit over the longer format.
