MAGDALENA FRECH VS DARIA KASATKINA PREDICTION
World number 13 Daria Kasatkina reached the semi-finals of Roland-Garros two years ago before falling foul of eventual champion Iga Swiatek and it took an inspired Elina Svitolina to oust her in the round of 16 last summer. The 27-year-old is at her best on clay, also reaching the last eight here back in 2018, and she finished runner-up to Danielle Collins at the Charleston Open last month to bring some solid form into Paris.
World number 49 Magdalena Frech lost to Kasatkina in straight sets at the Granby Open two years ago, Kasatkina’s most recent of six WTA titles, to trail 0-2 in their head-to-head and this looks a bad match-up for the Pole on clay. The 26-year-old has been in solid form for the best part of 12 months now, with recent wins over Ashlyn Krueger and Sloane Stephens impressive on this surface, but back the Russian to have too much for her here.
