LUCIANO DARDERI VS ARTHUR RINDERKNECH PREDICTION
22-year-old Luciano Darderi will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 44th after beating third seed Adrian Mannarino in straight sets on Wednesday, backing-up a solid opener over Taro Daniel. The Italian won his maiden ATP title at the Cordoba Open in February and he has gone from strength to strength on his favoured clay since, requiring the likes of Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev to oust him at recent Masters events.
World number 73 Arthur Rinderknech became the latest player to upset Frances Tiafoe in a straight-sets victory on Wednesday, backing-up a tight three-set result over an out-of-sorts Dan Evans, The 28-year-old reached the quarter-finals here in Lyon three years ago during his most effective spell on tour but this looks too steep of a test to go one better against a hungry up-and-comer in these conditions. The home crowd will do their best to drag Rinderknech over the line but expect Darderi to find a way through, probably in three sets.
