LUCAS POUILLE VS ALEX DE MINAUR PREDICTION

Lucas Pouille has certainly had to do it the hard way to get the to the third round at Wimbledon this year as he went through three rounds of qualifying and has beaten Laslo Djere and Thanasi Kokkinakis to get to this point. The match on Thursday against Kokkinakis was going his way before the Australian was forced to withdraw and it was nothing less than Pouille deserved.

He now faces another Australian in Alex de Minaur and the number nine seed poses a much greater challenge for the Frenchman. De Minaur has beaten compatriot James Duckworth and then Spaniard Jaume Munar both in straight sets to reach this stage and his confidence will be sky high right now.

De Minaur has created 36 break points in his opening two matches which is a staggering figure. His return game is on point right now and against a player like Pouille, that should just about make the difference. This is likely to be one match too many for Pouille and we expect De Minaur to win in three or possibly four sets.
