LORENZO SONEGO VS TOMMY PAUL PREDICTION
Tommy Paul will be desperate to do well this fortnight but the popular American has not been handed the easiest of ties in the first round at Flushing Meadows
He meets Lorenzo Sonego who is strong on clay but has shown he is more than capable on all surfaces. He is one of a string of Italians right now who are playing some quality tennis and making waves on the ATP Tour.
Expect Sonego to pose his opponent plenty of questions here. The Italian is more than capable of taking at least a set off Paul who will not be overly happy with his own form in recent times.
Paul is understandably favourite with the bookies and rightly so. But nobody should underestimate Sonego. Ultimately we expect the crowd to drag Paul through but we are not ruling out a shock and our preference is on over 3.5 sets to be played here.
