LORENZO SONEGO VS ROBERTO BAUTISTA AGUT PREDICTION
It’s fair to say that Lorenzo Sonego and Roberto Bautista Agut have not been enjoying their best seasons on tour, with neither having progressed beyond the quarter-finals of any ATP event in 2024. Indeed, seasoned campaigner Bautista Agut – a former world number nine – fell out of the top 100 just a week before Wimbledon, and appears to be heading towards the latter end of his career at the age of 36.
The Spaniard did, however, show some signs of an upturn in form in the Mallorca Championships prior to Wimbledon, and his emphatic first-round victory over Maximilian Marterer was just that little more emphatic than Sonego’s win over 31st seed Mariano Navone.
Bautista Agut’s best days may be behind him but his deepest ever run at a Grand Slam – a semi-final appearance in 2019 – came at SW19, and we’re backing him to channel those memories and continue his progress this week.
