THE PREDICTION

World number 17 Karen Khachanov beat Cam Norrie in straight sets on Monday to get a strong foothold in at the Monte-Carlo Open and he can be confident of rolling through here as he leads Francisco Cerundolo 3-0 in their head-to-head. The 27-year-old overcame Cerundolo in three sets at this stage of the Miami Open three weeks ago, before a sorry defeat to Alexander Zverev, but this could be their closest battle yet on clay for the first time. World number 22 Cerundolo grabbed an eye-catching opener over Daniel Altmaier on Monday but the Argentine has struggled to find any sort of consistency all season long. The 25-year-old should be able to find his feet on clay, on which he came close to making the quarter-finals at Roland-Garros last summer, but at this moment in time back Khachanov to be too solid to lose out.

TIP: KAREN KHACHANOV TO WIN
