KAREN KHACHANOV VS FRANCISCO CERUNDOLO PREDICTION
Karen Khachanov beat Roberto Carballas Baena in the first round 6-4 6-4 to earn his place in the round of 16. The Russian has not been in the best of form in recent tournaments but he has a good record historically on hard surfaces and will hope to do well in Beijing this week.
He now meets Francisco Cerundolo who he has played six times before and coincidentally each one coming in an ATP 1000 event. Khachanov has won all six meetings and he is the perfect match for Cerundolo stylistically.
Cerundolo beat Jakub Mensik 7-6 6-1 in the first round but it will be interesting to see if he can overcome this psychological burden of the head-to-head between the two. The most recent loss to Khachanov came in Cincinnati just a few weeks ago and it is hard to make any case for him here. Khachanov won that match 6-0 6-3 and we simply have to favour the Russian to win once again.
