KAREN KHACHANOV VS BEIBIT ZHUKAYEV PREDICTION

Karen Khachanov produced a solid performance in beating Finland’s Otto Virtanen on Thursday to move into the quarter-finals. He won two tiebreaks to beat the big-serving Virtanen and it was Khachanov’s serve, first and second, that made the difference in this match.

The 28-year-old Russian now meets local favourite Beibit Zhukayev who dominated Benjamin Hassan in his first-round match but then had a stroke of good fortune in the round of 16. He had the tough assignment of facing Tomas Machac who is in great form right now but the talented Czech player had to withdraw early in the match due to illness.

That sees Zhukayev move into the quarter-finals but this is another tough one for him. Khachanov is far more experienced and while he can be a little inconsistent, there were good signs in his first match that his game is on point right now, to have confidence in him winning here.
