JORDAN THOMPSON VS HUBERT HURKACZ PREDICTION

Jordan Thompson is thoroughly enjoying his tennis in this North American leg of the ATP Tour. He looked good in his first-round victory over Constant Lestienne and the Australian’s confidence is sky high at present. His all-round game against Lestienne looked good as he dropped just six games and he will be full of belief ahead of this match.

After withdrawing from Cincinnati with fitness issues, that will win give Thompson confidence and he meets a player who has had more physical issues than he has.

Hubert Hurkacz’s body held up in the first round as he had too much firepower for Timofey Skatov but it remains to be seen how he copes when up against a tougher test. That will likely come against Thompson who is no pushover for anybody and Hurkacz will need to be close to his best physically and mentally.

Hurkacz pinged down 27 aces against Skatov but Thompson will have a much better defensive game. We like Thompson to push Hurkacz all the way here and the value from a betting perspective certainly lies with the Australian. We like Thompson outright, but also on the set betting with over 3.5 very likely.
