JORDAN THOMPSON VS ALEXANDER ZVEREV PREDICTION
Alexander Zverev gets underway in Montreal and he has been handed a tough draw with a clash against Jordan Thompson on Thursday. Thompson has won two out of their three meetings, all on hard courts, and those two wins were the last two encounters which came in Los Cabos earlier this year and in Tokyo last year.
Thompson is ranked 30th in the world right now which is his highest ever position and he has had some tremendous this results this year. He beat Zverev in the semis at Los Cabos in February and went on to win the title beating Casper Ruud in the final. He has had some good results since and reached the final in Atlanta two weeks ago losing to Yoshihito Nishioka in the final there. He comes to Montreal in good form and will fancy his chances of upsetting Zverev.
Zverev has been strong this year but has not been without his ups and downs and being upset frequently. Arthur Fils stunned him and got in his head in his hometown Hamburg Open several weeks ago and it once again showed that Zverev can be frustrated. He is one of the favourites this week but this match has banana skin written all over it. Be wary about this match and consider the over 2.5 sets as Thompson is more than capable of winning at least one set.
