JESSICA PEGULA VS LEYLAH FERNANDEZ PREDICTION

Recent Canadian Open champion Jessica Pegula continues her bid to win back-to-back WTA 1000 events. The American saw off compatriot Taylor Townsend in the round of 16 and delivered some particularly impressive serving statistics, winning 88% of points behind her first serve.

Leylah Fernandez, meanwhile, continues to work her way back up the rankings and she is playing with plenty of confidence right now. Prior to defeating Diana Shnaider in straight sets on Friday, the Canadian registered her first win over a top-five opponent since 2021 when she beat Elena Rybakina in the round of 32.

This promises to be a competitive affair between two players who are playing some excellent tennis right now. At some point you feel that Pegula may start to feel some fatigue given how much tennis the 30-year-old has played lately. However, there have been no signs of that yet. Regardless, it would be no surprise to see this one go the distance with three sets looking likely.
