JELENA OSTAPENKO VS BARBORA KREJCIKOVA PREDICTION

As far as the women’s draw goes, there are few playing at a higher level than Jelena Ostapenko right now, with the Latvian star having won all eight of the sets she has contested at Wimbledon this year. Her most recent victim was Yulia Putintseva, Ostapenko clinically converting five of her six break points in that contest.

For Barbora Krejcikova, this is the furthest she has ever reached in the Singles at Wimbledon, although she has twice been a winner of the Doubles event. The former world number two hasn’t dropped a set since her first-round contest with Veronika Kudermetova, and she most recently defeated Danielle Collins in the round of 16.

Ostapenko has won the last three meetings between the two, including their clash at Birmingham in the run-up to Wimbledon. That victory on grass should give Ostapenko a psychological edge here, and if she can maintain the standard she has shown over the last week, she can be fancied to progress.
