THE PREDICTION
This should be a really entertaining match on Wednesday between clay specialists Diego Schwartzman and Jaume Munar. World number 16 Schwartzman needed four sets to oust Russian qualifier Andrey Kuznetsov on Sunday whilst Munar beat Daniel Altmaier by the same scoreline to suggest there could be sets in this meeting for both players. Munar has put in some impressive performances this season but he trails Schwartzman 4-0 in their head-to-head record after most recently losing in the round of 16 at the Buenos Aires Open and, worse still, the Spaniard has never taken a set from him on clay. 29-year-old Schwartzman was a semi-finalist here back in 2020 before losing to eventual champion Rafael Nadal and he is well worth backing the outright winner of this clash. However, Munar has been playing well enough this year to make straight-sets a real risk.
