JANNIK SINNER VS TOMMY PAUL PREDICTION

Jannik Sinner is looking like a weight has lifted from his shoulders in New York after the announcement around his drug test issues and there are equally no signs of the hip problem that has been troubling him in recent weeks neither.

He looks somewhere close to his best and he has been incredibly dismissive in eliminating Mackenzie McDonald, Alex Michelsen and then Christopher O’Connell.

The 23-year-old is playing some high-quality tennis and with the draw opening up, he will fancy his chances of another Grand Slam here.

He meets home favourite Tommy Paul who he has played three times before, winning twice. The one defeat came at Eastbourne and the two wins came at ATP 1000 events in Madrid and Montreal.

Paul has had some tricky tests so far as he has had to overcome Lorenzo Sonego, Max Purcell and talented young Canadian Gabriel Diallo. He will relish playing at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in the primetime slot and he will unquestionably have huge support on his side.

That is unlikely to be enough however. Sinner is in fine form and while Paul could take a set off him, it is hard to see him playing at a high enough level for long enough to beat Sinner.
