JANNIK SINNER VS MATTEO BERRETTINI PREDICTION
World number one and top seed Jannik Sinner did not have it all his own way in the first round as he dropped a set to Yannick Hanfmann. He paid the price for switching off for a couple of games in the third set to let his veteran opponent back into the match and he will be eager to avoid that happening in this tough second round clash with Matteo Berrettini.
Berrettini also won his clash with Marton Fucsovics in four sets and after looking completely dominant in the first two sets, his match also went to a fourth after a significant dip in the third set. During that match, Berrettini had a lengthy medical time out which has to be a concern for somebody who has struggled with various ailments in recent times.
That is a major concern for the veteran Italian coming into this match against the best player in the world right now especially over the best of five sets. He does have the ability to test Sinner and could very well take a set off him, but it is hard to see Berrettini maintaining a level high enough, for long enough, to threaten to beat Sinner. Expect Sinner to progress but not without Berrettini causing him one or two problems and taking a set off him.
