JANNIK SINNER VS JACK DRAPER PREDICTION
World number one Jannik Sinner is looking in ominously good form and the way in which he beat Daniil Medvedev with relative ease was outstanding. He looked to really tune up his game in Cincinnati and he has carried over in New York and even gone up a level. He will come into this match with plenty of confidence but knowing only too well the challenge that Draper poses.
Jack Draper has unquestionably been the revelation of this US Open and is the only player not to drop a single set. Five consecutive straight-set wins over Zhang, Diaz Acosta, Van de Zandschulp, Machac and then De Minaur have seen the Brit just go from strength to strength.
It will be super interesting to see how Sinner deals with the aggressive style of Draper. It is hard to imagine Draper taking a backward step from what has got him to this place. Sinner however is playing just as good and aggressively, which is what makes for a fantastic match.
Draper won the only previous meeting between the two players back in 2021 at Queen’s but that counts for nothing really. Both players are completely different animals now and it is tough to predict who will seize control and implement their play on the other.
Sinner has to be favoured to win here but the value certainly lies with Draper. The odds on him are astounding and it will surely be far closer than they suggest. Draper is just as relentless as Sinner so expect him to win at least a set, but Sinner is the preferred choice to progress to the final.
