JANNIK SINNER VS CARLOS ALCARAZ PREDICTION

World number one Jannik Sinner did not have it all his own way in is semi-final clash with local favourite Yunchaokete Bu but the Italian did enough to win and progress to the final. Sinner has put all the off-court drama to one side this week and continued his unbelievable winning streak which spans three tournaments right now

After winning the US Open and the Cincinnati Masters, Sinner’s last defeat came at the hands of Andrey Rublev in the Canadian Open so he is understandably flying with confidence right now.

He meets a rejuvenated Carlos Alcaraz in the final in Beijing and the Spaniard is looking more like his old self by the win. After losing in the Gold Medal match at the Paris Olympics to Novak Djokovic, Alcaraz has not looked like his usual self. He looked tired in Cincinnati and was woefully off the pace in the US Open.

The downtime following those two early exits likely helped him and he returned to the Laver Cup and looked much sharper. That has continue din Beijing and he is getting stronger by the match. His performance against Daniil Medvedev was exceptional and his straight-sets win against the third seed will boost his confidence even more so.

The pair have met nine times before and Alcaraz leads the head-to-head with five wins to four and it is Alcaraz who has won both of their meetings in 2024. The first came at Indian Wells over three sets and then he won at Roland Garros over five sets. That will give Alcaraz even more confidence coming into this one.

They met in Beijing last year in the same tournament and it was Sinner who won that one in straight sets.

Both of these players are in fine form right now and that makes for a sensational final. Their recent meetings have gone the distance and there is every chance that this one follows suits. Our preference is for Carlos Alcaraz here. He is getting back to somewhere close to his best and we just feel Sinner’s incredible run and off-court issues may just creep up on him. Against a rested and revitalised Alcaraz, we favour the Spaniard to snap Sinner’s incredible streak.
