JANNIK SINNER VS BEN SHELTON PREDICTION

After cruising through his opening match against Taro Daniel in straight sets, Jannik Sinner needed to come from a set down to beat Tomas Etcheverry in his third-round match. He lost the first in a tiebreak, but responded well to win the second and third sets.

He now meets Ben Shelton, the talented young American, who is playing some excellent tennis right now. He cantered to victory against Denis Shapovalov and then Roberto Carballes Baena in straight sets so confidence will be high coming into this round of 16 clash.

The head-to-head does not make good reading for Shelton however. He has won one of their four previous meetings but he has lost the last three and all of those losses have come in straight sets. Sinner has the athleticism and defensive play to create more chances on Shelton’s big serve than most, and his relentlessness is able to force Shelton into forced and unforced errors.

Shelton is improving all the time but Sinner is a bad matchup for him. Barring any complacency, Sinner should continue his streak and win once again versus Shelton in straight sets.
