THE LOWDOWN
20-year-old Jack Draper lost his Next Gen ATP Finals debut in three tiebreaks to Dominic Stricker on Tuesday, meaning he will have to beat both Chun-hsin Tseng and tournament favourite Lorenzo Musetti to progress. The Brit came into Milan at a career-high ATP world ranking of 41st, the second-highest behind Musetti, after thrilling runs to the semi-finals of the Eastbourne International, quarter-finals of the Canada Masters and an injury-hampered run to the third round of the US Open.
World number 90 Chun-hsin Tseng lost in three comfortable sets to home favourite Lorenzo Musetti on Tuesday in a fairly predictable Next Gen ATP Finals debut. The 21-year-old has struggled since coming off the clay this summer but he has claimed three tour-level wins on hardcourts in recent months.
THE PREDICTION
Jack Draper may have suffered something of a hangover from a strong few weeks on tour and the Brit should be able to get a win on the board in this second of three round robin matches against Chun-hsin Tseng. The Brit has enjoyed recent wins over the likes of Emil Ruusuvurori, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Jenson Brooksby whilst also taking Carlos Alcaraz to three sets in a Swiss Indoors defeat three weeks ago. That level should be more than enough for a straight-sets victory here but perhaps an outright call is wise after his below-par opener.
