JACK DRAPER VS ALEX DE MINAUR PREDICTION
British men’s number one Jack Draper is doing his very best to pick up the mantle left following Andy Murray’s retirement and a first grand slam quarter-final represents a fantastic achievement, after beating Tomas Machac in the round of 16 whilst dropping just six games. Meanwhile Australian Alex de Minaur has won just once in straight sets so far at this tournament. But his resilience and defensive class has seen him wear out opponents and he already boasts victory over one British player this year at Flushing Meadows in Dan Evans.
It’s hard to see Draper being able to get the better of de Minaur when considering the power the latter possesses within his groundstrokes, especially the left forehand which should record plenty of winners across this match. As mentioned above, de Minaur’s defence is also among the best on the circuit and being able to hit winners against him is so difficult. In the end, the expectation is that de Minaur will end Draper’s excellent run, but back over 38.5 games to be played.
