THE LOWDOWN

World number 18 Roberto Bautista Agut has quietly gone about his business for another successful season on tour, adding the Qatar Open and Kitzbuhel Open to his career total of 11 ATP titles. The 34-year-old set his best Grand Slam showing at Wimbledon in 2019 with a semi-final exit to eventual champion Novak Djokovic but he has never made it past the round of 16 at the US Open.

THE PREDICTION

23-year-old J.J. Wolf set a career-high ATP world ranking of 83rd two weeks ago after an excellent run to the Citi Open quarter-finals was ended by Andrey Rublev. The American can be a dogged competitor capable of frustrating plenty of opponents but Roberto Bautista Agut is one of the more unflappable players out there. The Spaniard beat Wolf in three sets at Indian Wells earlier this season and backing him to win outright looks the sensible move once again, even though he should feasibly be taking this in straight sets.
