A highly competitive matchup lies in store in Palermo as 2022 winner Irina Begu meets Karolina Muchova for a place in the final. Begu has been in fine form this week with three consecutive straight-set victories but this will comfortably be the toughest test she has faced.
Karolina Muchova has been solid without being spectacular this week in reaching the semi-finals. She beat Begu the last time they met at Roland Garros in 2023 but Begu won the previous two meetings.
This really is a pick’em match and one that could easily go either way. We have a marginal preference for Begu based on performance this week but our play is on over 2.5 sets.
