THE PREDICTION
18-year-old Holger Rune burst onto the world stage by taking a set off Novak Djokovic in their first round encounter at the US Open last year but the Dane is a future star already making waves on his favoured clay. The teenager will break the top 100 on Monday as he takes to court to face Soonwoo Kwon, with the Korean edging ever closer to breaking the top 50 himself. 24-year-old Kwon suddenly found some form from the wilderness last season with a run to the Eastbourne International semi-finals as a lucky loser that seemed to galvanise his fighting spirit. That took him to a first ATP title at the Astana Open late last year and a win over Lloyd Harris on Tuesday in Adelaide is excellent form coming into the first round. Kwon beat Rune in their only previous meeting at the Marbella Open last season in three and it could be another deciding set required to separate them here.
