THE PREDICTION

It is surprising to find that Grigor Dimitrov and Borna Coric have yet to meet on tour but this should be a thoroughly entertaining, silky second round match to watch on Wednesday. World number 20 Dimitrov conceded just three games to Marcos Giron in the first round on Sunday to make a proper statement of intent, whilst Coric came back from a set down to beat Carlos Taberner in four. Former world number 12 Coric will be ecstatic with that performance as he continues his rehabilitation to the tour following a year out with injury but the 25-year-old is yet to string back-to-back wins together since his return and that will be harder still in the longer format.

Former world number three Grigor Dimitrov has been stung a few times on the clay swing over the last few months but the Bulgarian has impressed in parts and his energy-conserving win over Giron makes him the fairly solid favourite here. Back Dimitrov to win outright, although leaving the 30-year-old out of accumulators is always wise.
