THE PREDICTION
20-year-old Jack Draper grabbed the first top five win of his career on Wednesday night in Montreal, beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. The Brit will smash his career-high ATP world ranking no matter the outcome of this round of 16 clash with Gael Monfils but a win would see him rise within touching distance of the top 50 for a remarkable improvement on his 250+ place at the start of the season. World number 20 Gael Monfils blew off the cobwebs on Wednesday, though, with a huge performance over in-form Maxime Cressy. The 35-year-old stunned the American in two tight-as-they-come tiebreaks to significantly improve on his first round match with Pedro Martinez in what is his first tournament back on tour since early May. This should be a thriller on Thursday night with plenty of forehand winners riling up the crowd and with both players impressing in the second round it looks a tough call in their first meeting. Monfils has seen three tiebreaks across two matches so far and Draper beat Tsitsipas with one in the second set, so taking at least one tiebreak here looks a reasonable excuse to not call a winner.
