EMMA RADUCANU VS ELISE MERTENS PREDICTION
Although not perfect by any means, Emma Raducanu looked somewhat back to her old self in a hard-fought win over Renata Zarazua. Having seemingly come through without injury, the 21-year-old will be desperate to kick on against Belgian Elise Mertens. She’s playing with a freedom not seen in a while and with vicious power suited to the Wimbledon courts, not to mention a loud home crowd behind her every move, Raducanu could ride a wave of momentum that takes her very far in this tournament.
Mertens is an all-round threat, capable of doing damage on any surface, which is vindicated by her best performances across prior grand slams, including two fourth round appearances at Wimbledon. But Raducanu’s meticulous grass court training heading into this tournament is beginning to reap rewards and at her best, she’ll prove very difficult to contain.
