DIANA SHNAIDER VS LIUDMILA SAMSONOVA PREDICTION

Diana Shnaider will be flying in confidence after her superb win over Coco Gauff on Friday night and she will be eager to back that up in this match against Liudmila Samsonova.

The 20-year-old Russian Shnaider is coming off winning the Hungarian Open so her confidence is understandably high. That is her third WTA title of 2024 and she is showing no signs of easing off the gas.

This test against fellow Russian Liudmila Samsonova will be another great test. They have already met once on clay earlier this year and it was Shnaider who won that in straight sets in Rome. Samsonova looks fully recovered from the injury that forced her out of the Citi Open last week and she has looked strong in her dominant wins over Mertens and Uchijima.

There really is little to choose between the two and our preference here is on set betting. There is every chance that this goes the distance, and while we marginally prefer the momentum that Shnaider currently has, our play is on over 2.5 sets.
