DANIIL MEDVEDEV VS CARLOS ALCARAZ PREDICTION
Daniil Medvedev has reached the last four at Wimbledon for the second year in succession, and did so by outlasting world number one Jannik Sinner in an enthralling quarter-final. Medvedev never let his head drop despite a barrage of winners from the Sinner racket, and the 28-year-old showed superb mental resilience to win a deciding fifth set.
His next opponent, Carlos Alcaraz, had a battle of his own in the quarter-final, losing the first set to Tommy Paul before increasing his level and taking control of the match. His four-set victory means he is one step closer to defending the Wimbledon title that he won so thrillingly in last year’s final against Novak Djokovic.
Medvedev will be hoping that history doesn’t repeat itself as he lost in straight sets to Alcaraz at the very same stage of Wimbledon last year, but if he replicates the level that he showed against Sinner, then this should be an altogether more competitive affair. Alcaraz has shown one or two frailties in his bid to defend his crown, but he has produced the goods when it has mattered most, and that is how wee see this contest going.
