CONSTANT LESTIENNE VS JORDAN THOMPSON PREDICTION

It has been an uninspiring 2024 for 32-year-old Frenchman Constant Lestienne and it is hard to make a case for him doing much in this first week of the US Open.

Lestienne has not won a game in the main draw of nay tournament he has played since March and that does not bode well when he is facing a talented opponent like Jordan Thompson.

Thompson hit a career-high 30 in the world rankings this month and the Aussie will be motivated to do well in New York.

The big concern around Thompson is the rib injury that forced him to withdraw from the Cincinnati Open. He has not had long to recover but he will be hoping that 11 days between matches will allow him to get through this match albeit with the risk of aggravating it.

That is the only concern for this match. Thompson should easily outclass Lestienne and continue his strong recent form if the injury does not rear up and impact him.
