THE PREDICTION

Defending champion Coco Gauff looks set for an entertaining clash with Elina Svitolina in the final if both players can avoid upsets on Saturday, but Gauff probably faces the tougher test in in-form Emma Navarro. World number three Gauff has blasted through to the semi-finals with just 11 games conceded but Navarro has impressed in a tougher draw, beating Petra Martic in straight sets to build on an improving week in Auckland. 22-year-old Navarro ended 2023 in the form of her young life, dropping down to the ITF circuit to maintain her level whilst most of the WTA tour enjoyed a break, and that hard work looks to have paid off with a debut seeding at the Australian Open likely. Gauff looks too good to lose this match, nor this tournament, but Navarro has played well enough this week to warrant caution. Take the top seed to win outright or risk straight sets outside of an accumulator.

TIP: COCO GAUFF TO WIN
