Eighth seed Casper Ruud is perhaps flying under the radar a little bit this week and the Norwegian now faces 19-year-old Chinese prodigy Juncheng Shang in the third round

CASPER RUUD VS JUNCHENG SHANG PREDICTION

Casper Ruud is quietly going about his business in style this week and after wins over Bu Yunchaokete and then Gael Monfils, Ruud is building some momentum.

He has had a fairly mixed year so far and his performances in Canada and then Cincinnati were not exactly convincing. He is however tuning up nicely this week and looking to get back to his best on a surface and venue that he has had good results on previously.

He faces off against Juncheng Shang who he has not played previously. The 19-year-old came through a five-setter in the first round against Alexander Bublik and then overpowered Roberto Carballes Baena last time out. He won an impressive 89% on his first serve against the Spaniard and he will be hoping to dominate in that area once again.

That will be easier said than done against Ruud however. The Norwegian is playing decent tennis right now and he should have enough in his locker to get the win here. Juncheng Shang could very well push him hard but we’re leaning with Norwegian to get the job done and progress.
