CARLOS ALCARAZ VS TOMAS MACHAC PREDICTION

Carlos Alcaraz is looking in imperious form right now having won all three matches in Beijing so far in straight sets. There’s a real determination about him after a below-par spell around the US Open and that is seeing him get somewhere close to being back to his best.

He brushed past Gael Monfils in the round of 16 – an opponent who beat him last time in Cincinnati just a few weeks ago. That will give him further confidence and he will be expecting to win again here.

He meets Tomas Machac who is playing some good tennis right now. After beating Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Aleksandar Vukic in the opening two matches, he had a tough test against 11th-seed Tommy Paul in the round of 16 but he came through that impressively.

He lost the first set but was not disheartened and fought back to win the next two sets in style. He does need to start his matches a little better however if there is one criticism and he will not be afforded the opportunity to play anywhere less than his best here if he is to have any chance of even winning a set here.

This pair met in the Laver Cup a couple of weeks ago and were tied at one set apiece until Machac retired. Alcaraz has tuned up even further since then and we expect him to dominate here and win in straight sets.
