THE PREDICTION
World number one Carlos Alcaraz looks to have overcome his understandable slump in form since winning the US Open last month. After a choppy start in Basel where he had to come back from a set down to beat Jack Draper the Spaniard raced through to the quarter-finals in straight-sets against Botic van de Zandschulp. World number 15 Pablo Carreno Busta will be a tough foe, though, as the elder Spaniard does seem to improve against the better players on tour. The 31-year-old overcame Swiss home hopeful Dominic Stricker in three tight sets on Wednesday but the occasion against Alcaraz, who beat him to win the Barcelona Open in April, should keep him more focused. PCB only recently claimed the biggest title of his career at the Canada Masters and if he can find that level this match could go the distance. However, Alcaraz is world number one for a reason and he can be backed to reach the semi-finals as the outright winner here.
