THE PREDICTION

World number two Carlos Alcaraz played out another entertaining clash with Dan Evans on Monday, exchanging breaks of serve in both sets but, once again, never really looking in too much trouble. The 20-year-old extended his lead over the Brit to 4-0 with that result and he looks set to do the same here against world number 19 Grigor Dimitrov, over whom he also leads 3-0 after some entertaining but ultimately straight set wins this season. 32-year-old Dimitrov beat Karen Khachanov in two on Monday to back-up a solid opener over Aleksandar Vukic but there is certainly a ceiling to breach here, something that the Bulgarian has found increasingly difficult since his career-best season in 2017. Dimitrov has enjoyed a series of strong runs since the clay swing this season but defeats to the likes of Novak Djokovic, Alcaraz, twice, and Jannik Sinner most recently at the Beijing Open are a familiar pattern. Back Alcaraz to win in straight sets.
